A Date for Your Diary. Our third annual conference will be held in Birmingham on Friday, 5 February 2010, and will once again be at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. Registration and programme details will be posted in due course.
Missed our 2009 Conference? Our second annual conference was held in Birmingham on 6 February 2009 and was another resounding success. The constitution was put to a vote and adopted by our members. DwSIs in Prison Dentistry. As you will be aware the document guidelines for the appointment of DwSIs in Prison Dentistry has now been launched. For those of you who do not have a copy there is a link on our Resources page. The Association has been in discussion with the Department of Health and meetings have been held to express the Association's views and a way forward to implement the document.
Resources. We are setting up templates of documents that might be useful to our members. The idea is to develop a pool of resources of patient literature, practice policies, audit, governance and patient questionnaires. If you have anything that you feel is of use to others then please send it on and we will consider it for the website.
Duraphat Prescriptions. Several dentists have contacted us regarding difficulties in prescribing Duraphat toothpaste. The common problem seems to be that pharmacies are querying these prescriptions on a cost/benefit basis. If you are having problems with this issue, would you share your experiences with us so that we can get an idea of what is going on nationally?
